Tamagawa Walking Course (1. 10. 2004) |
|||||||
Bright sunshine. I took the Denentoshi Line from Shibuya till Futako Tamagawa. Here's the border between Tokyo and Kawasaki, marked by the Tama river. After a short inspection of the city center, some shopping malls, a Tokyu Hands, I approached the river. Strolled through Futakobashi Park. Came across a small coffee shop. No one around despite the splendid weather. Saw a tiny park located on top of a hill in the distance. Decided to go there. Not that spectacular. A shrine and a restaurant. Had difficulties to find back to the river. Posh neighbourhood. Sometimes tripple garages with Porsches and BMWs lined up. The Tama, broad and shallow, is framed by dykes which give a good walking path. Sun incredibly strong. Missed cap and sunglasses. Small break with some view on driving schools, tennis fields and baseball courts occupying the flat shore lands. Arrived after app. 2 hours at the next bridge and train station. Izumi Tamagawa. Saw express trains heading for Mt. Fuji. Took the Odakyu line with stops in Soshigaya Okura to Shinjuku. See another walking course near the Tama |
